Turns out that GT ecu is NOT junk. The issue lies in a harness mismatch. Apparently, GT dash/body harnesses and Cobra ECU/engine harnesses don't mesh. I'm NOT going through the hassle of repinning the OEM harnesses to jive and made the decision to buy [another] Holley HP standalone for the car. This will leave tons of room for growth and I can sell off a bunch of stuff to recoup cost.

I saw they came out with the bigger screen and wondered how it would fit. It looks like they had to hack the heck out of the dash to get that one in.

There's a guy developing a dedicated mount for it but anything you see now is a hack job.

You going to wait for the mount or go with the hack jobs?

It'll be a while before I can justify it but I'd wait for the mount. I've been trying to eliminate the stupid shit I've done to this car over the years. It's better to just wait and do it right.

as heavy/well built as the smaller one is I would not want it flying around in front of me if the worst case scenario were to happen. That one on top might very well be mounted nice and they just hacked the dash to cover it but I would take the time to make sure it is mounted with as much as it must cost. I have been afraid to look myself.

holy smoly that is what I figured. I will keep my small screen and extra gauges. The bigger screen would be nice but I like having two different sets of gauges running at the same time so I can tell if one is bad for one reason or another. For that price you can probably do the same as me for less, I never added it up.

Today, I took the time to remove all of the Cobra specific wiring, the passenger air bag and the front fenders to help facilitate this endeavor.

two things I can recommend. Flip the hp around so the wires are facing you. If/when you need to trouble shoot later having the wires closer will help. Also you will need as much space as you can spare for relays/fuses and the rest of the stuff needed for the hp.

That will all depend on how well it fits. I flipped the fasteners around on the "ECU mount" so I can install the bolts towards the firewall. Also, I'm using this Leash Electronics relay box to replace the CCRM. I'm not really sure where it'll mount yet.

nice box. Any idea what the current rating is on the relays? I went with a separate high current relay for my fuel pump.
