Major bummer. So, did you have dry or wet tires on, and, was the tack wet? Maybe you should've swapped places with the instructor and have him ride along instead.

Who’s the noob now!!?

I will look toward another set of wheels with rain tires in the future. If he would’ve lifted, this wouldn’t have ever happened.

This evening I stripped the front clip off and replaced it with the stock fenders and Cobra bumper. Just waiting on a few shipments to deliver and I’ll be back on the road.

Thanks, it was the cliché “it happened in slow motion” moment.
YEARS ago now I had the back end slide out from me and just like you said it was a slow motion wreck into a guard rail. At first I thought no big deal it will stop in time. Then I realized we were still going, and going. AND GOING...... Then I thought I would only nudge it, ok now it will rub it a little bit, but it kept rubbing while the entire time in my head I am screaming "NO NO NO NO NO NO STOP STOP STOP STOP" - but it just would not stop...

Honestly, I was just numb and didn’t react.

At all.

Got super introverted and started fixing the car in my mind.

Luckily my car took the brunt of the impact and spared the barrier.
Yeah, but you know "duct tape will fix that". I've had my share of spins (thank God I didn't hit anything) and it's the most learning/humbling you'll ever get. However, in your case the "driver" needed the education more. Best part, you're OK and the car can always be fixed. I'm curious if the "driver" offered to offset the cost of your parts. That's the least he could do.

I am not sure which is worse if it was a friend or someone you at least knew or a complete stranger. I mean you both knew the danger yet I don't think I could do it and not offer to pay something myself.

He agree to pay the amount I’ve requested and I’m ready to move on.
