Started out, short little drive this morning. Got 1.5 miles away to first traffic signal and it died! Couldn’t get it restarted for a full cycle of traffic lights. Embarrassing. Also, it would die out when coming to a stop. So, I had to throw it in neutral about 100’ before the traffic light, watch the rpm’s stay up around 2k then dump to zero and die. I’d have to quickly hit the gas to keep it lit. Cars around me probably thought I don’t know how to drive a stick.
Sluggish suggests its the base tune and until I get the final tune the car’s not telling the computer what it needs. Makes sense to me, but like I said, embarrassing to have happen so maybe I’ll just take a 400-mile drive then drop it off at FTK for the final tune. LOL

I hope its still learning but any tune I got it drove nicer on the way back than it did on the way there.

It shouldn’t have to “learn” anything, the tune is what they make it. More than likely there is a temperature difference compared to when the tuned, or they didn’t drive it and work on the tune in the loaded areas. I’d take it back and tell them what’s going on so they can do a touch up, and you get drive it without worrying about it stalling.

Drove better this morning on way to work. Not perfect or great, but better!

That stalling is the treatment, for sure. Scary AF. Mine was doing that since I got it last fall. Finally got it sorted out for the most part (base idle reset, cleaned TB/MAF/IAC) and a new VSS.

I talked to FTK again and this is typical and not uncommon for a new motor and base tune. Makes sense. After 750 miles I take it back for the “real” tune which will cure all the current gremlins. Heavy sigh of relief and a big thumbs up for that!

Sidebar: averaging 15.5mpg right now

Felt good but almost like getting reacquainted after 4 1/2 months away! Can’t wind it up past 4000rpm yet, but gets there in a pretty good hurry! I’m also going to drive it as the suspension sits for the duration of the 750-mile break in and then decide if I want to bring the back end down a bit. Maybe split the difference where it is now.
I take it that you got adjustable MM LCAs?

As it sits now, with the adjustable LCA’s exactly how they came from MM, there is approximately 2 3/8” gap above the rear tires(3rd picture). I’ll probably take that down 3/4”-1”. 1sr and 2nd pictures show front and rear comparisons. Fronts I’m ok with!

200 more miles until I reach the 750-mile break-in and then I can get the final tune and dyno!

Gents,
Simmer down! Sim. Merrrr...
I put 260 miles on today, so I’m WELL OVER the 750 mile requirement. I’m dropping the car off Wednesday morning. They’re going to do a cold start, dyno tune, test drive. Then leave it till it’s a cold start again, finalize the tune, test drive one last time and then she’s mine!!

But I gotta tell you guys. The motor, even without a tune, pulls like a mofo. Part of my drive today included a mountainous, curvy, hellacious road that I normally reserve for my Harley only. There’s sections where 15-20mph is warranted; and sections I pulled 80-85. This freaking engine I was mostly in 3rd and 4th gear! It’s a freaking torque monster. I’m not supposed to exceed 4,000rpm, but I can tell you, it kicks in likes a beast from 3,500 to 4 grand. So I can’t wait till I can wind it out to 5,500 or 6k

The motor pushing more power ?
Yes. Once I get the final dyno results I’ll be able to compare and calculate the gains in hp and torque.
