Well I decided to ditch my other build thread and focus on this motor build. I was going to do a simple HCI but decided against it. SO i called up Fox lake and have them do me up a 306 short block, and after about 6 weeks i just got it yesterday. But before the pics, this is what the motor build will consist of.

-GT40 x303 Aluminum Heads
-SVO 1.6 RR
-TFS Intake
-TFS Stage 1 Cam (degreed)
-All new TFS lifters
-Comp Cams Timing chain
-Melling oil pump with arp harded drive shaft
-All arp Hardware throughout the motor
-FRPP 24lb'ers
-70 mm Pro Products TB
-76 mm c&l maf

okay enough rambling heres what i got so far

Just a question, why a red block? seems like it would clash with your car, and it reminds me of chevy lol.

Thanks, well I have been tearing off a few things like the accessories and I busted up my knuckle pretty bad and had to get some stitches so now my hand is so swollen I can't grip a wrench so I will take a few days off from working on it, but basically I have everything to put this together except for a harmonic balancer which I'll buy this week

Make sure all your oil galley plugs are in there, my shortblock was missing one I didn't find out until I started it up and my HV oil pump could not produce any more than 10psi of oil pressure. Had to tear it down again.

Also, did it come with an oil pump? Get the builders recommendation on what pump if you have to get one, another lesson learned for me.

he told me a standard volume pump would be fine, i went with a melling. Ill make sure all the oil galley plugs are there tho, if they arent where can i get them?

I'd just call the builder, I'm sure they'd send some if they forgot. I bought a set of freezeplugs for a 5.0 and it had the oil galley plugs in the kit.
